A wave of sorrow and anger has swept across the entertainment industry after a disturbing video surfaced showing the brutal killing of a couple in Balochistan over a love marriage. The video, reportedly recorded around Eid-ul-Adha, shows the victims being executed in what is being described as an ‘honor killing,’ according to Dawn newspaper.
In the viral footage, the woman can be heard speaking in Brahui, telling her killers, “You are allowed to shoot me, but nothing more than that,” and requesting to walk seven steps before being shot three times. Her husband was killed shortly after.
The gruesome incident has triggered outrage from showbiz personalities, who took to social media to express deep grief and demand justice.
Actress Hira Khan wrote on Instagram, “Those who watched this happen will have to answer to God. May God throw you all into hell.” She prayed for the forgiveness of the murdered woman, adding that she is now “in a better place.”
Actor Osama Khan questioned the concept of honor being used to justify murder. “What kind of manliness is this, where a daughter is killed in the name of honor but denied her rights?” he posted alongside an image from the incident.
Veteran host and actress Mishi Khan released a video condemning the act. “Which jungle are we living in? Where people are killed for marrying by choice?” she said, blaming widespread corruption and weak law enforcement. She stressed that when forbidden acts are normalized, such crimes continue unchecked.
Senior actor Noman Ijaz also expressed sorrow, stating, “Even in war, women are not to be harmed. And here, people are killing for love.”
Celebrities have joined the growing demand for justice and accountability.
