The highly anticipated World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 clash between India Champions and Pakistan Champions was cancelled on Saturday evening after the Indian team refused to play.
Media reports suggested that the former Indian cricketers, including Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, and Shikhar Dhawan, told organizers they would not take the field against Afridi. “If Afridi plays, we shall not,” according to tournament officials.
The match, scheduled for 8:30 PM at a packed Birmingham venue, was called off a day before the commencement. Tournament officials confirmed that the remaining matches of the event will proceed as planned.

Ticket holders for the cancelled matches will receive a full refund. Cricket Lorz, the ticketing partner, has stated that refunds will be processed automatically to the original payment method.
However, It should take up to 30 days for the refund to reflect in their account.
Hospitality package holders will also be refunded for the ticket value portion of their package. No further action is required by ticket buyers.
Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan Champions defeated England Champions by five runs, while South Africa Champions edged past West Indies Champions in a ball-out.
