Pakistan Post is set to begin delivering electricity bills as part of a new pilot project aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting on July 17, where it was agreed that Pakistan Post would initially handle bill delivery in one electric subdivision per postal circle. Postal staff will work alongside DISCO (Distribution Companies) employees to identify and resolve any issues before the program is expanded.
If successful, the responsibility for both printing and delivering electricity bills to over 50 million residential, commercial, and agricultural customers will be gradually transferred to Pakistan Post over the next six months.
An official said the phased rollout will allow time to address any flaws or gaps in the system. A review of the current postal workforce and delivery routes will also be conducted to ensure timely and accurate bill distribution nationwide.
