The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain in Karachi on Saturday, July 19, as humid monsoon currents continue to affect several parts of Sindh province.

According to the PMD forecast, the city will remain mostly cloudy with intermittent light showers. Although chances of heavy rain are low, residents should prepare for muggy weather and reduced visibility during brief rain spells.

Temperatures in Karachi are expected to range between 33–35°C during the day and dip to around 28–30°C at night. Morning humidity may reach 70–80%, falling slightly by evening.

Winds will mostly blow from the west and southwest, offering some cooling effect. However, the combination of humidity and overcast skies may cause discomfort, especially during midday hours.

In contrast, districts such as Ghotki, Tharparkar, Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta, and Sukkur may face moderate to heavy rainfall through Sunday, increasing the risk of urban and rural flooding in low-lying areas.

Citizens in Karachi are advised to carry umbrellas if outdoors, avoid unnecessary travel during rain spells, and stay updated through local media or the Met Office.

The light showers forecast for Karachi are typical of the city’s monsoon pattern, which usually avoids extreme rainfall experienced in interior Sindh. Authorities will continue monitoring the situation.
