The tragic death of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar has led to a wave of emotional unity in the entertainment industry, prompting the creation of a dedicated WhatsApp group to support women’s mental health.
Actress Tooba Anwar revealed that women across the media and entertainment sector have joined the group to regularly check in on each other’s emotional well-being.
In an interview with a private digital media outlet, Tooba said, “The group was formed to allow us to talk openly about mental health, emotional stress, family issues, and financial difficulties. It’s an open forum for all women in the industry.”
She added that weekly check-ins will be conducted to ensure consistent support. “I live with my family, but many of my friends have moved here from cities like Islamabad and Lahore for work. If I’m in pain after Humaira’s death, I can only imagine what they’re going through alone,” she said, emphasizing the need for connection.
Earlier, actress Sonya Hussyn also shared a heartfelt video confirming the group’s formation. “After the tragedy with Humaira, the showbiz industry finally took a step toward looking out for each other,” she said. “All female artists, makeup artists, technical staff, and women living away from their families have been added to the group.”
The initiative is being welcomed as a much-needed support network in an industry that often lacks spaces for emotional care.
