Cricket talent trials for Lahore Qalandars under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) are set to begin in Karachi.
The initiative is jointly organized by PMYP, Higher Education Commission (HEC), and PSL X champions Lahore Qalandars.
The trials will launch on July 10 at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, before moving to Hyderabad, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sukkur.
The aim is to provide a platform for youth to showcase their cricketing skills and possibly be selected for Lahore Qalandars’ development program.
The opening ceremony in Karachi will be attended by top dignitaries including Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Focal Person PMYP Sindh Fahad Shafiq, and HEC’s Javed Ali Memon.
Speaking about the initiative, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said it follows the successful Quetta trials and reflects the vision of equal opportunity for youth across Pakistan. “We’re excited to see the energy of Sindh’s youth on display,” he added.
These trials are part of a larger national sports program under PMYP, which has already held talent hunts for hockey, football, volleyball, badminton, wrestling, and more through HEC’s support.
