Pakistan to Debut at FIVB U19 Volleyball World Cup in Tashkent

Pakistan is set to make its debut at the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) U19 Volleyball World Cup, taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from July 21 to August 3.

This marks the first time the national team will participate in this prestigious youth volleyball tournament, having earned their spot by securing a bronze medal at the U18 Asian Championship last year.

The team has been placed in Group A, alongside host nation Uzbekistan, Belgium, Turkey, Argentina, and Puerto Rico.

Pakistan’s campaign will kick off against Belgium on July 24, followed by matches against Uzbekistan on July 25, Turkey on July 26, Puerto Rico on July 28, and Argentina on July 29.

The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has announced a provisional list of 15 players for the tournament, with the final 12-man squad to be confirmed before the team’s departure for Tashkent.

The preliminary squad includes:  Talal Ahmed, Abu Bakar, Jibran, Muhammad Anas, Muhammad Hassan, Muhammad Saud, Ajmal Junaid, and Muhtad Ali Shah, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Yahya, Javed Ahmed, Tayyab Khan, Usman Akhtar, Khizar Hayat, and Hayam Khan.

Pakistan’s group-stage schedule for the FIVB U19 World Championship is as follows: they will face Belgium on July 24, Uzbekistan on July 25, Türkiye on July 26, Puerto Rico on July 28, and Argentina on July 29.
