In a significant move to ease public inconvenience, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has declared free parking on 32 major roads across the city with immediate effect.
This move follows directives issued by the Chief Minister of Sindh and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, who instructed KMC to relieve public inconvenience caused by paid street parking charges.
The measure targets open-road parking zones, where people often park for daily activities.

The city government clarified that paid parking will still apply at 11 enclosed or boundary-walled parking sites owned by KMC. These are typically high-footfall areas such as major commercial centers.
