Pakistan’s squash duo Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal extended their dominant streak at the Asian Doubles Squash Championship, securing another commanding victory against the Philippines to advance toward the quarterfinals in Kuching on Monday.
The Pakistani pair demonstrated exceptional skill and coordination, overpowering their Filipino opponents with decisive scores of 11-7 and 11-4.
Earlier in the tournament, Zaman and Iqbal had set the tone with a resounding win in their opening match against South Korea, triumphing 11-4 and 11-1 with remarkable ease.
Their next challenge comes on Tuesday, when they face Chinese Taipei in the final group-stage match—a crucial encounter that will determine their seeding for the knockout rounds.
As per the tournament structure, the initial two days will consist of pool matches, leading to the progression into the knockout rounds for the men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles categories.
The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the knockout stage, which is scheduled to begin on June 25. The finals for all three categories will take place the following day.
