The Karachi Traffic Police has seized over 8,124 vehicles and motorcycles since June 10, 2025, under a city-wide enforcement campaign aimed at curbing rising traffic violations.

The Office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic confirmed the crackdown, targeting major offenses such as unregistered vehicles, illegal number plates, lack of licenses, and helmet violations.

Vehicles found without number plates, or using non-standard and fancy plates, have been confiscated across the city as part of efforts to enforce compliance with road safety regulations.

The operation also includes seizing unregistered motorcycles and cars, as well as penalizing drivers operating without valid driving licenses issued by the relevant authorities.

Motorcyclists not wearing helmets have also been a major focus. Authorities emphasized that both riders must wear helmets, regardless of whether they are the driver or passenger.

The crackdown is part of preparations for a fully automated e-ticketing system expected to launch soon, which will include revised fine structures and improved enforcement mechanisms.

Officials from Karachi Traffic Police urged citizens to strictly follow traffic rules to avoid penalties and help create a safer driving environment on city roads.

They encouraged all vehicle owners to register with the Excise Department and ensure their number plates meet official size and design standards issued by authorities.

The department also advised drivers to secure proper licenses and avoid using unauthorized or duplicate documents to prevent legal action and vehicle impoundment.
