The Sindh High Court granted bail to the main accused Salman Farooqi and Owais Hashmi in Defence youth torture case.
The two men were arrested for allegedly torturing a young motorcyclist in the Defence area of Karachi. Their bail petitions were heard by the court on Wednesday morning.
During the hearing, the court ordered the accused to submit surety bonds of Rs 100,000 each.
The government lawyer told the court that the prosecution had no objections to the bail pleas of either accused.

It is worth recalling that on June 1, a violent incident took place near Khayaban-e-Ittehad Commercial in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area involving a car and motorcycle.
According to police reports, a motorcyclist collided with a car, after which the car’s passengers allegedly assaulted the rider.
The incident sparked outrage on social media, where users shared videos and demanded justice. Many questioned the rising violence and VIP culture in upscale areas like DHA Karachi.
Law enforcement took swift action, and both suspects were arrested soon after the incident. The case was registered at Darakhshan Police Station under multiple criminal sections. Police assured further investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the assault. CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts are being collected to build a stronger case.
