Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) provided urgent medical assistance to an injured Indian crew member aboard a Liberian-flagged oil tanker near Karachi.
According to an official statement, the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Centre (JMICC) of the Pakistan Navy received a distress call from MT High Leader, requesting immediate medical evacuation. The ship’s entire crew comprised Indian nationals.
Upon activation of integrated maritime protocols, the PMSA swiftly responded, safely evacuating the injured sailor and transferring him to a local hospital in Karachi for treatment.
Officials said the timely response showcases the readiness and professionalism of Pakistan’s maritime forces.
The successful mission is seen as a demonstration of Pakistan Navy’s commitment to international maritime safety norms, prioritizing human life over national boundaries.
The JMICC, a hub for multi-agency coordination, played a central role in managing the operation efficiently. It continues to act as a vital link for maritime safety, rescue, and emergency response within Pakistan’s territorial waters.
