How to legally register your mobile IMEI with PTA

PTA mobile registration warning

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a public warning against fraudulent mobile registration schemes, urging citizens to register their devices only through official channels.

According to the PTA, mobile device taxes and duties are exclusively managed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Any third-party registration offer claiming otherwise should be treated as fraudulent.

To verify and register devices, users must access the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) via this Link.

The system ensures devices are officially approved, protecting users from future service disruptions.

How to Register Your IMEI:

  • Visit the official PTA DIRBS website
  • Submit your device and personal details
  • Receive a PSID code from the FBR
  • Pay applicable taxes via authorized banks
  • Finalize your registration through the PTA portal

The PTA also emphasized that users should make tax payments themselves through proper banking channels. Falling for suspicious registration deals may lead to device blocking or financial loss.

The authority urged everyone to be cautious and contribute to national compliance by registering devices legally.

If you’ve received a message from PTA about a cloned or duplicate device, act promptly to avoid disconnection.

Dial *#06# to check your IMEI and match it with the one mentioned in PTA’s alert. You must respond within 7 days to prevent your device from being blocked.

If the issue remains unresolved, submit your proof of purchase and FBR tax payment here.
