Karachi monsoon rain forecast 2025

The monsoon rains of 2025 are expected to start by next week, according to Anjum Nazir Zaigham, Deputy Director at the Met Department.

The Met Office forecast light rainfall or drizzle in northern and western areas of Karachi, while most of Sindh continues to face hot and humid weather.

A pleasant change was recorded as several localities including Surjani Town, New Karachi, and Gulshan-e-Maymar received brief rain spells. Light showers also fell over Orangi Town and Baldia Town, with thunderclouds hovering above.

The pre-monsoon wet spell may continue in the city, the weather official said, with expected rain in Khuzdar and Lasbela districts of Balochistan.

Partly cloudy conditions are likely today in Karachi, Mithi, Umar Kot, Thatta, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Dadu, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and other districts of Sindh.

The Met Department has also warned of strong winds, gusts, and rainfall with thunderstorms in some areas, while heavy rain may occur at isolated spots. The official added that rising temperatures in northern areas are causing rapid glacier melt, which is improving the water level in rivers.
