Pakistan to face India in T20 World Cup 2026 opener

The International Cricket Council has unveiled the full schedule for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to take place across seven venues in England from June 12 to July 5.

A total of 12 teams, organized into two groups, will vie for the championship in this 33-match tournament. The host nation, England, will commence the event by facing Sri Lanka at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

Pakistan has been placed in Group 1 alongside Australia, India, South Africa, and two qualifying teams. They will kick off their campaign against India at Edgbaston on June 14 and will subsequently face South Africa at the same venue on June 17.

For their third match, Pakistan will travel to Southampton to compete against a qualifier at the Hampshire Bowl on June 20, followed by a showdown with the defending champions and six-time T20 World Cup winners, Australia, at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds.

On June 27, Pakistan will take on the second qualifier in their group for their final group match at the Bristol County Ground. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which are scheduled for June 30 and July 2 at the Oval Cricket Ground in London.

The tournament will conclude with the final at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 5.
