Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi announced that foolproof security and civic arrangements for Muharram have been finalized.
He addressed a high-level meeting held at the Scout Auditorium, attended by officials from K-Electric (KE), KWSC, SSWMB, senior police officials, deputy commissioners, and civil society members.
Naqvi emphasized that all issues – including road paving, sewerage, water supply, and electricity – would be addressed before the 1st of Muharram.
He issued special directives to ensure street light installations, sewer line repairs, and uninterrupted utility services, particularly around Nishtar Park.
DIGP South Asad Raza and DIGP East Usman Ghani briefed the meeting on security deployments, while DIG Traffic Syed Pir Muhammad Shah outlined traffic control plans for processions.
Naqvi instructed SSWMB and all civic bodies to operate beyond their capacity and maintain zero-tolerance for negligence.
Commissioner Naqvi further asked deputy commissioners to act with the same dedication shown during Eid ul Adha, ensuring round-the-clock public service during Muharram.
