The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain in Karachi, offering relief to citizens who have faced extreme heat over the past week, with temperatures nearing 49°C.
Thunderstorms with light rain are expected on the outskirts of Karachi tomorrow, which may last for one to two days in the city, according to officials.
Today, however, Karachi will remain hot with maximum temperatures expected at 49°C, while sea breezes stay suspended. Residents may experience extreme discomfort due to high humidity.
The Meteorological Department said humidity levels have reached 78 percent, increasing the “feels-like” temperature and making outdoor activity more exhausting.
Under the impact of westerly winds, dust storms and scattered rain are also expected in parts of Punjab, northeast Balochistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa later today.
Thunderstorms and hailstorms are possible in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while upper southeast Sindh might also receive brief rain and strong winds.
Despite rain forecasts, plains of Pakistan will remain under heat stress, as high temperatures continue to grip major regions across the country.
Weather experts suggest that upcoming rainfall in Karachi and nearby areas could bring slight temperature drops and help ease heat-related illnesses.
