The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that mobile SIMs issued against expired CNICs from 2018 will be blocked after July 31, 2025.
Citizens whose Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) expired in 2018 are urged to renew their ID cards to avoid disruption in their mobile phone services across Pakistan.
According to NADRA, these expired CNICs must be updated before the deadline. Failure to do so will result in automatic SIM card deactivation linked to the outdated identity documents.

Renewal can be done at any NADRA registration center nationwide. Users may also update their CNICs through the Pak-ID mobile app.
The authority stressed the urgency of the matter, encouraging all affected individuals to act promptly and avoid last-minute rush or service loss.
NADRA has set up multiple support channels to assist citizens. Mobile users can contact helpline 1777, while landline users may dial +92-51-111786100 for queries.
