Pakistan’s rising bowlers impress in latest ICC rankings

ICC T20I bowling rankings 2025

Pakistan’s bowlers have made notable strides in the latest ICC T20I rankings, reflecting their impressive performances in recent international matches.

In the bowling category, pacers Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi have both surged to joint 18th place, each earning 605 rating points. Their consistent performances have been pivotal in elevating Pakistan’s standing in T20I cricket.

Left-arm speedster Shaheen Afridi has also made progress, now positioned at 35th with 552 points. His ability to take crucial wickets has been a key asset for the team.

Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain, Shadab Khan, has climbed to 58th place, sharing the spot with spinner Abrar Ahmed, both of whom have secured 476 points. Their contributions in the middle overs have been vital in controlling the opposition’s scoring.

However, young talents Naseem Shah and Sufiyan Muqeem have experienced a decline in their rankings, now sitting at 92nd and 95th positions with 407 and 406 points, respectively. This dip highlights the challenges faced by emerging bowlers in maintaining consistency at the international level.

In the T20I batting rankings, Pakistan’s star duo, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, have retained their positions at 12th and 13th, respectively. Their performances continue to be a cornerstone of Pakistan’s batting lineup. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris remains steady at the 30th spot.

On the other hand, emerging middle-order batter Hasan Nawaz has slipped to 46th place, while Saim Ayub has dropped to 62nd. Additionally, Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has fallen two spots to 76th with 430 rating points, and Fakhar Zaman has also slipped one place to 87th.

Overall, while Pakistan’s bowlers are making significant gains, the batting lineup will be looking to regain momentum in the upcoming fixtures to improve their standings in the ICC T20I rankings.Bookmark messageCopy messageExport
