The Sindh government has imposed a complete parking ban on II Chundrigar Road to reduce traffic congestion in Karachi’s busiest commercial area.
Acting on the instructions of Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah, authorities have banned all vehicle parking from Shaheen Complex to Merewether Clock Tower.
Similar restrictions now apply to Muhammad Bin Qasim Road up to Dr. Ziauddin Road, including the SM Law College area.
Officials said that the bike parking on the footpath has also banned, meanwhile, drivers violating the order and parked the vehicle in the said zone will be lifted or towed immediately, and legal action will be taken against their owners.
Citizens are advised to use the Railway Ground, now officially designated as a parking site.
Traffic officials also revealed that a crackdown is underway on unregistered vehicles and fancy number plates across Karachi.
DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah confirmed that the police are strictly enforcing the new orders.
In related news, the DIG announced that rickshaws will soon be banned from seven more major roads in Karachi as part of a broader campaign against traffic violations and encroachments.
Anti-encroachment drives have already cleared areas near Millennium Mall, Nagan Chowrangi, and Empress Market. Authorities plan to roll out a modern traffic management system to improve city traffic flow.
