Pakistan stock market breaks two new records this week

Pakistan Stock Exchange

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) had a historic week, setting two new records for both trading and closing at the highest index levels in its history.

According to a statistical report, the PSX benchmark index reached a record intraday high of 122,281 points, marking the first time such a peak was achieved during trading hours.

Additionally, the index recorded a historic closing high of 121,798 points earlier in the week, confirming strong investor confidence and continued market momentum.

Overall, the KSE-100 index surged by 1.63 percent, adding 1,949 points during the week and closing at 121,641 points, reflecting steady bullish sentiment.

The report highlighted that Rs 2.64 billion shares were traded, with total trading volume exceeding Rs 111 billion in just five trading sessions.

Stock market capitalization also saw a major rise, increasing by Rs 255 billion to reach Rs 14,729 billion, further signaling strong market growth and investor activity.

Market analysts attributed this performance to stable economic indicators, improved investor confidence, and expectations of upcoming policy continuity, which drove sustained buying.

Several sectors, including banking, energy, and cement, led the rally with notable gains, as institutional and retail investors both contributed to trading volume.

The momentum has placed the Pakistan Stock Exchange among the best-performing regional markets in recent months, with many predicting continued bullish trends.

The PSX management applauded the historic week, crediting market reforms, digital trading access, and corporate transparency for strengthening market performance.

Experts suggest investors maintain a balanced approach, despite the rally, as market corrections may follow after rapid gains in a short period.
