The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced plans to fund the construction of two modern parking plazas in Karachi to tackle traffic and parking issues in the busiest areas of the metropolis.
A delegation from the ADB, including Hussain Hader, Julia Hallnagel, and Umer Shafique, met Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab to discuss sustainable transport initiatives for the city.
Both sides agreed to build dedicated parking plazas on MA Jinnah Road and I.I. Chundrigar Road, where congestion and parking shortages are major problems.
Mayor Wahab stressed the importance of quick implementation and strict enforcement, saying the project would provide urgent relief for commuters and local businesses.
The meeting was also attended by Akhlaq Yousafzai, Senior Director to the Mayor, and Daniyal Alishan Siyal, Director of Media.
