FIA stops Iranians, Afghan nationals at Karachi airport over fake documents

Fake passport attempts at Karachi Airport

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Karachi Airport foiled two attempts to travel abroad using fake documents, offloading three foreign nationals from Iran and Afghanistan.

Two men, Khalid Baloch and Muhammad Arif, were caught attempting to travel to Qatar using fake Pakistani passports.

Both had valid work visas, but initial investigations revealed they were Iranian nationals who acquired passports through forged documents from an agent for Rs 110,000 each.

In a separate operation, Afghan national Amin was intercepted while boarding flight FZ334 to Saudi Arabia.

The passport and protector presented by him were confirmed fake via online records and second-line checks.

The Afghan accused had illegally entered Pakistan via the Chaman border and secured the documents through an agent by paying a significant sum.

All three accused were handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further legal proceedings.

Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are ongoing to uncover the network behind the forged documentation.
