eid ul adha 2025

Eid ul Adha 2025 will be celebrated on June 07 (Saturday) as the Zil Hajj moon has not been sighted, Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announced on Tuesday.

The decision was reached after zonal committee meetings in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar, where no credible moon-sighting reports were received.

Maulana Azad said the decision was made unanimously and with consensus by all religious scholars present.

Speaking at a news conference, he offered prayers for the peace, unity, and prosperity of Pakistan and the wider Muslim world.

“May God grant blessings of the upcoming days to the entire Islamic world and this beloved country of mine,” he added.

Azad urged the public to promote a message of unity and brotherhood, especially during the holy occasion of Eid ul Adha, one of Islam’s most significant religious festivals.

On the other hand, the moon of Zil Hajj has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, the Day of Arafah will be on June 5 and Eid ul Adha on June 6.

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has announced that concrete evidence has been received from many areas across the country of the sighting of the moon of Zil Hajj.

According to Arab media, the first day of Zil Hajj in Saudi Arabia will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, thus the Day of Arafah will be on Thursday, June 5, and Eid ul Adha will be on Friday, June 6.
