The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has officially announced the closure of all its offices across Pakistan on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The closure is in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer, a public holiday declared by the federal government.
According to the notification, NADRA offices nationwide – including 24/7 operational branches – will be closed for the entire 24-hour period starting midnight of May 28 until midnight of May 29.
While physical offices will remain shut, NADRA confirmed that digital services such as the Pak-ID mobile app and the online portal will remain fully operational during the holiday. This will allow citizens to apply for CNICs, track applications, and access other identity-related services online without interruption.
Officials have urged the public to plan their in-person visits accordingly, as no physical documentation, biometric verification, or processing services will be available on May 28. Normal operations at all NADRA offices are expected to resume on Thursday, May 29.
For further assistance, citizens can contact NADRA’s helpline at 1777 (for mobile users) or 051-111-786-100 (for landline users). More information is also available on the official website: www.nadra.gov.pk.
Youm-e-Takbeer, observed on May 28 each year, commemorates Pakistan’s successful nuclear tests in 1998, marking the country’s entry into the list of nuclear-armed nations. The day is recognized with national pride and observed as a public holiday across all government offices, including NADRA.
