Sharjeel vows help for transporters affected by violence in Karachi

Karachi road accidents

Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced a government committee to support transport operators affected by recent violent attacks in Karachi.

According to media reports, Sharjeel Memon, during a meeting at the Commissioner Karachi Office, said that four drivers were killed and vehicles were set on fire, calling the acts terrorism, not a protest.

“These are not protests; these are crimes,” he told reporters.

The minister was joined by Chief Secretary Syed Asif Haider Shah, Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, and Commissioner Sayed Hassan Naqvi.

Memon said CCTV footage would help identify those responsible, who would be tried under anti-terrorism laws. He promised strong legal action and said the government was committed to public safety and the protection of infrastructure. The newly formed committee will submit its report within ten days.
