Fakhar Drops Sitter As Haris Injures Finger In Drama
A dramatic moment unfolded in the PSL X final as Fakhar Zaman dropped a sitter at extra cover, giving a lifeline to the batter attempting a wild heave to midwicket.
The delivery was hammered in and angled towards middle. The batter looked to muscle it across but ended up slicing a leading edge. Fakhar, stationed at extra cover, had the chance, but spilled the simple catch.
Adding to the chaos, Haris — who flung out his hands in reaction — appeared to hurt his finger as the ball brushed past. He walked off the field holding his hand in visible discomfort.

In the first qualifier held on May 21, Quetta Gladiators set a formidable target of 210 runs, scoring 209/6. Islamabad United, in response, managed only 179, resulting in a 30-run victory for Quetta.
The following day, Lahore Qalandars faced Karachi Kings in the Eliminator-1. Chasing a target of 191, Lahore successfully reached 191/4 in 18.4 overs, winning by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare.
Lahore Qalandars continued their dominant form in Eliminator-2 against Islamabad United, posting 202/8. Their bowlers then bundled out Islamabad for just 107, securing a massive 95-run win.

Quetta has reached the PSL final twice. They secured their first title in 2019 by defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 8 wickets. In the 2016 final, they were runners-up, losing to Islamabad United.
Lahore Qalandars:
Lahore has also reached the final twice. They bagged back to back PSL title in 2022 and 2023.

Sahibzada Farhan of Islamabad United leads the run charts in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, scoring 449 runs in 12 innings at an average of 37.41 and a strike rate of 152.20. He registered one century and three fifties, with a highest score of 106, hitting 52 fours and 21 sixes.
Following closely is Lahore Qalandars’ Fakhar Zaman, who accumulated 428 runs in 12 innings with a 35.66 average and an impressive 154.51 strike rate. He notched one hundred and four half-centuries, smashing 44 fours and 24 sixes.
James Vince of Karachi Kings sits third with 378 runs in 11 innings, averaging 37.80 at a strike rate of 148.23. His top score of 101 was among one century and three fifties, with 43 boundaries and nine sixes.
His teammate, David Warner, scored 368 runs in as many innings, averaging 33.45 and striking at 153.97, with three fifties and a highest of 86. He struck 46 fours and 11 sixes.
Multan Sultans’ Mohammad Rizwan rounds off the top five with 367 runs from 10 innings at a superb average of 52.42 and a strike rate of 139.54. He remained unbeaten once during a highest score of 105*, contributing one century and one fifty, along with 33 fours and 12 sixes.

Hasan Ali of Karachi Kings emerged as one of the leading wicket-takers in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) season [before the final game], claiming 17 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 20.47 and a strike rate of 13.58. His best bowling figures were 4 for 28, although his economy rate was on the higher side at 9.03.
Matching him in wickets was teammate Abbas Afridi, who also took 17 scalps in 11 matches. Afridi had a slightly higher average of 23.52 and economy of 10.25, with best figures of 4 for 27.
Shaheen Shah Afridi from Lahore Qalandars finished with 16 wickets in 12 matches, boasting the best average among the top bowlers at 18.00 and an economy of 7.96. His standout performance was 3 for 3, and he maintained an excellent strike rate of 13.56.
Quetta Gladiators’ Abrar Ahmed also picked up 16 wickets in 11 games, with an average of 18.75 and a tidy economy rate of 7.40. His best figures were 4 for 42. Joining him was Faheem Ashraf, who matched the 16-wicket mark in 11 matches.
Faheem had the same average of 18.75, though his economy was higher at 10.97. He delivered the only five-wicket haul among the top five bowlers with best figures of 5 for 33.

In the 2025 season, RR Rossouw of Quetta Gladiators emerged as the leading fielder in terms of catches, taking 11 catches in 10 matches at an average of 1.1 catches per innings, with a maximum of 4 in a single game.
Abdul Samad from Peshawar Zalmi followed closely with 9 catches in just 5 innings, boasting an impressive average of 1.8 catches per innings.
