In a major move toward youth empowerment, the Sindh government has announced a set of innovative initiatives aimed at equipping young people with media, digital, and creative skills.
These programs, aligned with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, will begin rolling out from May 16 across Karachi, Larkana, Sukkur, and Hyderabad.
According to Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar, the newly introduced Youth Citizen Journalism Program will train individuals aged 18-29 in journalistic storytelling and reporting.
The initiative aims to create socially aware youth capable of highlighting community issues for a global audience.
Alongside it, the Youth Emerging Star Program will identify and nurture hidden talents across arts, science, culture, and technology.
Through mentorship and development opportunities, the government plans to support youth in refining their skills for future careers.
Minister Mehar also detailed a province-wide capacity-building initiative, offering workshops and seminars to develop soft skills like teamwork, communication, and leadership. These sessions will foster active citizenship and social responsibility among participants.
Equally important is the digital skills training program, which addresses growing demands in Pakistan’s online economy.
Training in web development, social media marketing, graphic design, and data entry will be offered. The aim is to create job-ready professionals and bridge the digital divide.
Applications are now open, marking what the minister called “a turning point for Sindh’s youth development agenda.”
