Board sends letter to FIA over cheating concerns in intermediate exams

BIEK cheating FIA

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has sent an official letter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to address the increasing problem of cheating through WhatsApp groups ahead of the intermediate examinations 2025.

Chairman of the Inter Board, Ghulam Hussain, stressed that strict action will be taken against those involved in these cheating groups, with both group admins and members facing accountability.

Hussain warned that the board is committed to ensuring a fair examination environment and will not tolerate any attempts to compromise the integrity of the exams.

The letter to the FIA comes after the Inter board chairman announced the date of the intermediate examinations 2025, which were originally scheduled to start on April 28, have now been postponed and will commence on May 5, 2025.

He stated that around 126,000 students will appear for the exams this year, adding that strict action will be taken against those involved in cheating through WhatsApp groups.

The intermediate exams stated that the delays were due to two major reasons.

Firstly, the board is still finalizing the grace marks process for students who appeared in the first-year exams of 2024.

Secondly, several exam centres are currently occupied with matriculation exams, which began on April 8 and will continue until May 8.

Officials explained that the revised date will help ensure a smooth and fair exam environment and the availability of necessary exam centres.
