The Sindh government has officially launched the People’s Pink and Normal Taxi Service to empower women and make travel safer across the province.
Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the new service under the guidance of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He called the initiative a “historic milestone for Sindh” and part of the government’s long-term plan to improve public transport.
This new taxi service aims to provide safe, affordable, and environment-friendly travel, especially for working women and students.

The pink taxis are specifically designed to ensure safe travel for women, with female drivers encouraged to take part in the service.
Sharjeel Memon said the Sindh government is committed to modernizing the transport sector and creating equal opportunities for every citizen.
“This project is a step towards safe travel and women’s empowerment,” he stated.
The launch is part of a larger effort to improve urban mobility, reduce traffic issues, and introduce cleaner transportation options in major cities like Karachi and Hyderabad.
