BISP raises quarterly kafalat payment to Rs13,500 in 2025

BISP Kafalat payment

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced the disbursement of the April 2025 quarterly installment under the Benazir Kafalat initiative, with cash payments increased to Rs13,500 per family.

The update was shared through BISP’s official Facebook page, confirming that registered women can collect their payments at designated camp offices across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other provinces.

Previously, the installment was Rs10,500, but the government has raised the amount to provide extra relief amid rising inflation and economic challenges faced by low-income families.

BISP’s DG Punjab, Arshad Liaquat, is overseeing operations across various cities to ensure smooth payments and reiterated that no additional fee is required. He urged recipients to immediately report any illegal fee demands.

Launched in 2008, the Benazir Kafalat initiative stands as Pakistan’s largest cash transfer programme, offering both short- and long-term support.

The short-term goal is to shield marginalized families from inflation, food crises, and economic downturns, while the long-term aim is to eradicate extreme poverty and promote women empowerment under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

BISP currently supports over 9.3 million families, and officials have set a target to reach 10 million families by next year, strengthening the social safety net across Pakistan.
