The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a Temporary Mobile Registration System to help overseas Pakistanis and foreign visitors register their mobile devices.
Through this system, travellers can register their mobile phones for free, allowing them to use their devices for 120 days during each visit to Pakistan.
The registration process is completely free, fully digital, and designed to make sure visitors have uninterrupted mobile connectivity without paying duties, taxes, or fees to PTA.
Visitors must use the official Device Registration System (DRS) portal to register their phones online. The system removes the need for physical office visits.
Mobile Device Registration Process
1: Visit the PTA website and click on the Sign-Up option.
2: Fill out the registration form with your personal details, create a password, submit the form and purpose of your visit.
3: Check your email or SMS for a verification link or code and verify your account.
4: Log in to the portal using your credentials.
5: Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions displayed on the portal.
6: Select the option “Temporary Registration for Overseas Pakistanis/Foreign Nationals.”
7: Enter your arrival and departure dates along with your passport number or CNIC number.
This new PTA system ensures that visitors stay connected with family, use important apps like maps, and access emergency services without facing any interruptions.
According to PTA, this free service is part of Pakistan’s broader digital transformation initiative to improve telecom services for both residents and international visitors.
The authority confirmed that the mobile registration process is straightforward, safe, and online, supporting travellers with a smooth communication experience across the country.
