US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker visited Karachi to promote stronger trade and investment ties between the United States and Pakistan.

During meetings with top executives of Pakistani firms, Baker discussed economic reforms, IMF engagement, and regional trade. She stressed the private sector’s role in driving economic growth and called for deeper commercial cooperation.

“The United States values its economic partnership with Pakistan,” she said, “and sees strong business ties as essential for shared prosperity.”

Baker also met with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and provincial officials, discussing energy, science, and technology. Both sides emphasized the need for fair, reciprocal trade policies and innovation-driven partnerships.

At the American Business Council, she highlighted Pakistan’s expanding tech sector, noting its potential to boost exports and create jobs. “Competitive markets drive innovation and benefit both countries,” Baker added.

The visit highlighted new opportunities to expand U.S.-Pakistan cooperation in trade, investment, and business – helping to grow exports, attract investment and create jobs that will make both countries stronger, safer, and more prosperous.
