NADRA updates identity card, b-form fees – April 2025

Nadra id card fee

The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has updated the fees for B-Form and ID card, introducing revised charges for issuing and renewing key identity documents across Pakistan.

According to NADRA, a new Smart CNIC now costs Rs750 for normal, Rs1,500 for urgent, and Rs2,500 for executive processing. These cards are vital for banking, taxation, and receiving subsidies.

The Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly called the B-Form, is now available for Rs50 under normal processing, and Rs500 for the executive category.

These documents are central to digital governance, ensuring transparency in welfare schemes and helping streamline direct benefit transfers for public services.

NADRA has recently improved its registration systems and online services to offer citizens quicker processing and easier access at local centers and via its digital portal.

The authority urges all citizens to obtain or renew their ID documents on time, calling secure identification crucial to efficient public service delivery.

Meanwhile, NADRA has officially ended its identity card services at General Post Offices (GPOs) across Pakistan. The initiative, launched to reduce crowding at NADRA centers, failed due to low awareness.

Launched three years ago, 83 GPO counters — including several in Karachi — are now closed. Their equipment will be shifted to union councils for decentralized service delivery.

Authorities had planned an awareness campaign for the GPO service but never fully implemented it, resulting in limited public engagement and early shutdown.
