Sindh government has declared Wednesday, April 17, as a local public holiday in Umerkot district to facilitate the by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-213.
A formal notification was issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, citing the need to support the electoral process and encourage voter participation.
The by-election became necessary after the death of senior PPP leader Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur, who had secured the NA-213 seat in the February 2024 general elections.
Polling is scheduled for April 17, and preparations are in full swing, with the district administration working in tandem with the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure smooth and secure voting.
