Karachi police have started a strict crackdown on unfit vehicles and motorcyclists following several deadly road accidents in recent weeks.
Inspector General Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has issued clear orders for traffic police to take strong action against all traffic law violations.
While talking to the media, IG Memon stated that the safety of the vehicle has become a major concern due to recent fatal accidents.
He explained that private dumper, tanker, and bus associations have been included in the action plan and were informed of key decisions.
All three vehicle types have been ordered to stay under a 30 kilometers per hour speed limit within Karachi city limits from now.
The IG stated that all heavy vehicle associations have been told to install tracking systems to monitor vehicle movement and control speed.

Every day, challans for speeding will be issued based on data from the trackers installed in these heavy transport vehicles.
A large-scale crackdown on outdated vehicles has also started. Vehicles in poor condition will be removed and sent to designated compounds immediately.
Motorcycle riders are also being targeted in this safety campaign as they are most often involved in serious and fatal traffic accidents.
IG Memon urged motorcyclists to always wear helmets, check lights, install rear-view mirrors, and maintain their bikes in roadworthy condition.
He emphasized the need for strict enforcement across all vehicle types instead of focusing on just one area or group of violators.
According to him, one-sided enforcement cannot bring the desired results. Everyone must follow traffic laws to make the roads safer for all.
The Sindh police aim to reduce road accidents through discipline, strict checks, and by promoting responsible behavior among vehicle and motorcycle users.
