A minor girl who had gone missing from the crowded Sunday market in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area has finally been reunited with her family after nearly four months.
The girl went missing in December last year when she got separated from her parents at the Sunday market. Despite desperate search efforts and a registered case at the Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police Station, the family remained unable to trace her whereabouts.
According to police and Edhi officials, after getting lost, the girl was taken in by a family that found her wandering alone in the market.

The family made several attempts to find her parents over the following months but could not succeed. Eventually, the child was handed over to the Edhi Centre in March.
Edhi staff then coordinated with the police and managed to track down the girl’s parents. She was safely returned to them.
Police confirmed that they were informed by the Edhi Centre about the girl’s presence, and facilitated her safe handover to her parents.
Authorities have once again urged parents to remain alert and attentive when visiting crowded public areas to avoid such unfortunate incidents.
