Eidul Adha 2025 expected dates revealed for Pakistan

Eidul Adha 2025

Eidul Adha, one of the most important religious festivals for Muslims, is expected to be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, June 7, 2025, according to initial predictions by the experts.

The final date, however, will be officially confirmed by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the sighting of the Zilhajj moon.

Astronomers anticipate that the crescent moon marking the start of the Islamic month of Zilhajj will likely be visible in Pakistan on the evening of May 27, 2025. If confirmed, this would place Eidul Adha on June 7.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Astronomy Society in the UAE expects the month to begin a day earlier, meaning Eidul Adha would fall on Friday, June 6, in the Emirates.

While astronomical predictions offer an early timeline, the exact date can differ by country depending on the local moon sighting, which remains the traditional method of determining Islamic dates in Pakistan and several other countries.

Eidul Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), who was willing to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. The act of Qurbani (animal sacrifice) symbolizes this commitment and is central to the celebration.

On this day, Muslims across Pakistan and around the world perform the ritual sacrifice of animals such as goats, cows, sheep, or camels.

The meat is then divided into three parts – one for family, one for relatives and friends, and one for the needy – highlighting the values of compassion, charity, and community.
