Karachi’s Northern Bypass is witnessing full-scale preparations for Asia’s largest temporary cattle market ahead of Eid-ul-Adha 2025. The market will be set up in Taiser Town, spanning more than 1,000 acres of land.
As per the media release, Faisal Brothers CEO – Shahab Ali Khan has been appointed as Administrator of the 2025 cattle market. He stated that contractors for all categories have been selected and work orders have been issued, with ground-leveling already in progress.
According to the administration, this large-scale market will cater to hundreds of thousands of animals and visitors, with dedicated VVIP, VIP, and general blocks for ease of access and services.
The market is expected to officially open for the public between April 20 and 26, and the setup includes complete facilities for water, electricity, security, parking, and veterinary care.
More than 18 categories of tenders have been issued, including for electricity supply, water provision, veterinary services, parking, and branding.
The market aims to welcome 400,000 to 500,000 animals arriving from various parts of Pakistan in the coming days.
Khan stated that this year’s market will bring noticeable improvements compared to previous years. “This will be a better experience for both traders and citizens. We aim to provide improved facilities, reduce parking fees, and lessen the overall burden on buyers,” he said.
He stressed that high stall rents in the past led to increased animal prices, and steps are being taken to avoid that this year. The market will also feature ATM machines, clean toilets, container offices, and dedicated security check posts.
Special arrangements are being made to manage weather challenges, especially rain. Large floodlights and enhanced drainage systems will be in place to ensure a smooth experience.
Shahab Ali Khan, who previously managed the Sohrab Goth market for over a decade, promised Karachi residents a memorable and family-friendly cattle market experience this year.
