Karachi beautification drive

The Sindh Government has formed a special Task Force that aims to revamp major roads, clean public spaces, and enhance the city’s overall appearance.

According to a statement from the Chief Secretary Sindh’s office, Karachi’s Mayor will lead the Task Force. Other members include key officials from the police, local government, Sindh Building Control Authority, Solid Waste Management Board, and Karachi Municipal Corporation.

The Task Force will focus on cleanliness, garbage disposal, encroachment removal, illegal parking issues, and sewerage system improvements.

Authorities have identified several major roads, including Shahrah-e-Faisal, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, I.I. Chundrigar Road, and Abdullah Haroon Road, as priority areas for development.

Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah emphasized that Karachi is the heart of Sindh and that improving its infrastructure and traffic system is a top priority.

He directed all relevant agencies to cooperate fully and show results within a set timeframe.

The Task Force also plans to introduce pedestrian-friendly zones, increase green spaces, upgrade street lighting, and improve public facilities.

These efforts aim to make Karachi a cleaner, safer, and more modern city for residents and visitors.

Officials believe that this coordinated effort will prevent duplication of work and ensure efficient use of resources.

The Sindh Government hopes this initiative will not only beautify Karachi but also enhance its economic and social development.
