Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon has directed the health department to appoint more medical consultants to the Police Hospital Karachi to enhance healthcare facilities for police personnel.
Chairing a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi, IGP Memon emphasized the need for uninterrupted OPD services, well-equipped diagnostic laboratories, and an adequate supply of medicines in police hospitals across Sindh.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including DIGs of Establishment and Finance, AIGs of Admin and Welfare, and doctors from the Police Hospital.
The hospital’s medical superintendent briefed the participants, revealing that 400 to 500 patients visit the OPD daily.
He stressed the urgent need for more medical consultants, particularly in orthopedics, psychiatry, ENT, gynecology, and other essential departments.
IGP Memon instructed officials to ensure that police hospitals meet the same standards as other healthcare facilities in the city. He also called for the introduction of health insurance and improved medical services for police personnel.
