According to Dawn News, the School Education Department conducted a student census and found that 5.6 million children were deprived of school admission. The province has 15,742 boys’ schools, 5,816 girls’ schools, and 19,420 mixed schools.
Despite these statistics, the Sindh government has allocated Rs 424 billion for education in the 2024 fiscal year. However, the high number of out-of-school children indicates a need for urgent reforms to improve access, enrollment, and education quality.
