The Karachi Commissioner’s Office has released a report on its ongoing campaign against profiteering, revealing strict action taken against 213 vendors on the 18th day of Ramadan.
According to the report, on the 18th of Ramadan alone, 213 profiteers were fined, resulting in penalties totaling Rs 1.241 million, while five individuals were arrested.
Price inspections were carried out at 1,521 shops, and special magistrates imposed fines amounting to Rs 244,000, while the officers monitored the sale of items at official prices at 221 locations.

The fines imposed on the 18th of Ramadan were distributed across Karachi’s seven districts, with District South receiving the highest penalty of Rs 279,000, followed by District Central with Rs 219,000, District East with Rs 176,000, District Korangi with Rs 131,000, District Keamari with Rs 52,300, District Malir with Rs 36,000, and District West with Rs 22,000.
