Karachi issues traffic plan

The Karachi Traffic Police have implemented a special traffic plan to manage the Eid shopping rush, restricting the entry of rickshaws, taxis, and on-call taxis in several busy areas.

According to officials, rickshaws and taxis will be prohibited from Tin Talwar to reduce congestion. Commuters facing heavy traffic can use Clifton Bridge, Race Course, and Chaudhry Khaliq-uz-Zaman Road as alternative routes.

The entry of rickshaws and taxis will also be restricted in key shopping hubs, including:

  1. Tariq Road (Allah Wali to Ittehad Signal)
  2. Saddar (Fawara Chowk to GPO, Singer Chowk to Zeb-un-Nisa Street)
  3. Jamia Cloth (Tibet Chowk to Eidgah Chowk)

Traffic from Millennium Drug Road will be diverted via Millennium Bridge, while Haideri Market Road will be off-limits to rickshaws and taxis.

Commercial traffic from North Karachi will be redirected from 5 Star Chowrangi to Shipowner Chowrangi and Landi Kotal Chowrangi. Similarly, vehicles from Board Office will be diverted through KDA Chowrangi, Ziauddin Chowrangi, and Pahar Ganj.

The traffic plan aims to ease congestion and ensure smooth movement for Eid shoppers.
