The Pakistan Army successfully completed Operation Jaffar Express, eliminating 33 terrorists and rescuing all passengers taken hostage during the attack, DG ISPR confirmed.
The operation, which unfolded in Bolan on March 11, began after terrorists targeted the railway track, trapping over 400 passengers aboard the train.
According to DG ISPR, the terrorists used civilians as human shields, prolonging the standoff.
Security forces managed to rescue 100 passengers yesterday evening, while the remaining hostages were freed in stages.
However, as per the DG ISPR statement, 21 innocent civilians and 4 Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred before the clearance operation.
The military spokesperson reaffirmed that terrorists have no connection with Islam and vowed that no militant group would be allowed to establish a foothold in Pakistan.
