Google has introduced Google Wallet in Pakistan, making digital payments more accessible and secure for users.

The service allows Pakistanis to store and use payment cards, loyalty cards, and boarding passes on their Android phones and Wear OS devices.

Farhan Qureshi, Google Pakistan’s Country Director, highlighted the importance of this launch, saying it would enhance financial inclusion and economic opportunities.

“Pakistan’s digital payment landscape is evolving rapidly, and Google Wallet provides a seamless way to pay, shop, and travel,” he said.

Currently, cardholders from Bank AlFalah, HBL, Meezan Bank, UBL, and other major banks can add their Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards to Google Wallet. Users of Allied Bank, Easypaisa, JS Bank, and Zindigi will also gain access soon. Payment cards stored in Google Wallet can be used for contactless transactions in stores and online where Google Pay is accepted.

The platform also integrates with local merchants, including Onic, Gul Ahmed, and J., through PayFast and Safepay. Additionally, travelers can add boarding passes from Thai Airways and Batik Air, with real-time notifications for flight updates.

Google Wallet ensures secure transactions through industry-standard tokenization, replacing card details with unique device-specific codes. If a phone is lost or stolen, users can lock or erase their data remotely using Google’s Find My Device feature.

For easy setup, eligible cards saved to a Google account will appear automatically, while new cards can be added manually. The app also supports membership and loyalty cards, with Naheed Loyalty Card already integrated.

Google Wallet is available for download from the Google Play Store, offering Pakistanis a safer and more convenient way to manage their digital payments.
