Terrorists attacked the Jaffar Express traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, taking passengers hostage and prompting a clearance operation by security forces.
According to Levies officials, the attack occurred in the Kachhi (Bolan) district, where terrorists detonated explosives on the railway track before opening indiscriminate fire on the train. The train driver was injured, and the train is currently stranded in a tunnel.
Railway officials confirmed that the Jaffar Express consists of nine bogies and carries over 400 passengers, including women and children.

The train departed from Quetta at 9 AM before being ambushed between the Balochistan – Iran Border, as per Geo News.
Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rind reported heavy firing at the site. Ambulances were dispatched, and an emergency was imposed at Sibi Hospital to treat potential casualties.
Security forces, despite difficult terrain, reached the location, cordoned off the area, and launched a clearance operation.
According to the local media outlet, the terrorists are in contact with foreign facilitators, while security officials affirmed that the operation will continue until all terrorists are eliminated.
