A tragic road accident in Karachi’s Baldia town area claimed the life of a young man while leaving his two brothers seriously injured.
According to rescue officials, a dumper ran over the three motorcycle-riding siblings, resulting in the death of 25-year-old Rahab while the other two brothers, Munir and Sahib, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
Following the accident, police arrived at the scene, arrested the dumper driver, and took the vehicle into custody.
Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway.
Earlier to this, a 19-year-old motorcyclist, Shakir Ali, lost his life after being hit by a speeding dumper near Karsaz on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
As per rescue officials, the injured teenager was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The authorities at the hospital, handed over the body to his family.
Following a rise in fatal accidents involving heavy vehicles, the Sindh government has banned the entry of dumpers into Karachi during the daytime.
Under the new rule, dumpers can only enter the city between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM to reduce road accidents and ease traffic congestion.
Traffic police have responded by issuing 34,655 challans, arresting 490 drivers, and canceling 532 vehicle fitness certificates.
