The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast clear skies with intermittent strong winds in Karachi, while various parts of the country experienced significant rainfall and snowfall on Monday.
In Punjab, cities including Multan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore received moderate to heavy rain. Meanwhile, Balochistan witnessed downpours in Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Saranan, Gulistan, Huramzai, Muslim Bagh, Sinjawi, Duki, Harnai, Loralai, Mekhtar, and Khanozai.
Hailstorms affected areas near the Afghanistan and Iran borders, while Ziarat, Toba Achakzai, and Toba Kakri recorded snowfall.
Due to the cold conditions, Quetta and other Balochistan districts are expected to remain partially cloudy and cold, according to the PMD.
In Karachi, the PMD recorded a minimum temperature of 19.5°C on Monday, with a maximum temperature expected to range between 29°C and 31°C.
The city’s humidity level stands at 79%, with cool northwest winds contributing to a mix of partial cloud cover and sunshine.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan also experienced moderate to heavy rainfall in areas such as Muzaffarabad, Bhimber, Bagh, Nakyal, and Dhirkot.
Snowfall was reported in Neelum Valley, Arang Kel, Halmat, Taobat, Grace Valley, Shounter Valley, Sargan Valley, Jagran Valley, Upper Neelum, Lawat Bala, Sharda, Astore Valley, Diamir, Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat, Niyat Darel, Tangir, and Skardu.
As a result of the heavy snowfall, roads in several areas have been closed, and regular flights from Islamabad to Skardu have been canceled.
Elsewhere, Quetta recorded a minimum temperature of 4°C, while Kalat saw 5°C. In other Balochistan cities, Sibi recorded 14°C, while Turbat and Gwadar registered 17°C.
