The educational institutes across Sindh will remain closed on February 14 [Friday] due to Shab-e-Barat, which falls on the 15th night of the Islamic month, Shaban.
The Sindh Educational Department issued a notification announcing that all public and private schools, colleges, and universities across the province would remain closed on Feb 14.
Following the consensus of the steering committee on education members, the holiday across the province has been announced.
Muslims observe Shab-e-Barat – as the holiest night between the 14th and 15th of Shaban – in which the believers seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah.
Many Muslims will visit the graves of their loved ones to say a prayer, while Muslims around the world observe the night of the 15th Shaban with religious spirit as they offer nawafil in mosques and other prayers.
